| 37990 | 2002-03-05 10:15:00 | Have a system Compac Deskpro that has a single harddrive that has been divided into three in varying sizes. Need just one main drive. How do I find out how drive was split and how do I make one again. Chris |

If no - you can reformat the drive using dos and merge it back to one. If yes - you need a partitoning utility like Powerquest Partition Magic. Please post with your situation for detailed instrutions. G P |

Just in case you have problems with the partioning, enter the setup (F10 while the white square is at the top right hand corner of the screen), and choose the option to bake a set of floppies (Needs three blank disks) so you can restore that maintenance partition. You can then boot one of these disks, and follow the menu to resotre the partition. Then you can boot a DOS (or W9x or whatever) disk, and use FDISK to remove any DOS partitions (the Compaq partition is a 'non-DOS' partition) and make one partition. Mark that one as active. Should be no problems ... |
