| 38047 | 2002-03-06 00:42:00 | When logging on, just after the Windows 98 flying window picture has flashed up, I get white writing on a black screen saying a file that starts C:/BTC......is missing. Can't read the rest as the page appears only briefly. (I just got my Windows reinstalled and I have been messing about with User Panel settings, especially Networks..so it is something I have done). I know there is some key combination to click to hold that page there so i can read it ...before the login box pops up...but I don't know it. Can anyone tell me what to do, please? Then hopefully I can work out how to reinstall the missing file. | Guest (0) | ||

By the sound of things it is something like a keyboard, mouse, or CD Drive (including DVD and CD writers) file that is missing. BTC is a manufacturer of all these different types of equipment. If you can find out which one it is, you could try their website for the file, at www.btc.com.tw or www.btcusa.com Good luck Mike. |

If you use the 'notepad' program to open these files (which can be found in the base C: directory) then you should see whatever BTC hardware is trying to be loaded. Download the latest drivers for that hardware and reinstall. If you've gotten rid the hardware then delete the line from either of the above files and save to the same name. | Guest (0) | ||
