38024 2002-03-05 22:04:00 Hi. Big problem. 200 pages of text and pictures that need to be scanned and converted to HTML. I need to find an optical character recognition programme that will enable the text AND pictures to be scanned and saved as HTML. I am using a trial version of Finereader5 which works fine, but I only have 5 days left! Finereader 5 is unavailable in NZ as it is a Russian programme. Any help??? Guest (0)
38025 2002-03-06 04:52:00 do what i do .download all trial versions to disc so when it expires reload a pain but free Guest (0)
38026 2002-03-06 05:51:00 It looks like a very good system --- isn't it worth $99 (US) for the Pro version? The Office version at $399 (US) might be a bit expensive.

There appears to be provision for 'secure' transactions on the www.abbyy.ru site for purchase.

38027 2002-03-06 11:35:00 Hi Steve,

The scanner you bought shoulda had some OCR software with it. If not, biff me an email and I'll try digging out some of my old OCR junk. I don't use it as my two finger typing easily fulfills my meagre four words per minute input needs.

Hi to L&J and 'bout time we had a strum and a tipple, wouldn't you say?

Later dude.

38028 2002-03-08 00:25:00 Hey andy, that would be great. I need something that still holds the format (tables, pics etc) and it needs to be able to save to either a word doco, or html. lemmi know if you have anything like that...
I have tried to download to disc and then re install, but it has encrypted file in my system registry as well, and setting back the date doesn't work either :-(
