38146 2002-03-06 23:26:00 Have a new system with Win XP. At the moment I have to expand all the folders each time I open it Explorer. Can I arrange it so that the contents (C:/for example,) stay expanded for next time as they used to in Win 98. Guest (0)

it is very easy to do what you're wanting.

You need to edit the shortcut to explorer in the start menu, or wherever you're opening explorer from.

To do this, Right click on the shortcut, and click Properties.

In the window that opens make sure the Shortcut tab is selected at the top, and find the box labelled 'Target'. In this box, after the 'explorer.exe' bit, add ' /e' (including the space), so it should now read something like:

'%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e'

I hope this helps

Mike.
