I recently fdisked and formated a friends old 486 to get rid of unwanted partitions.
I loaded the win95 system disk [floppy] back in with respective drivers ie; mscdex and the atapi cd driver but it doesnt see the drive 'D' in this case. also only boots up with floppy wont go straight to C drive without floppy in. whaddaI do??

38152 2002-03-07 01:51:00 In DOS, do a 'FDISK /STATUS'. The hard disk must be marked 'active' so that it can be booted. That is probably right.

In the BIOS, find (possible\y in one of the 'advanced' pages) the Boot device order.
If is says 'A,C', change itg to be 'C, A'. This is likely to be the problem.

Try installing the CD in the Control Panel/Add Hardware page.
