It is discussed on the Symantec website with no real solution. I have hunted the web high and low and found no real solution, I dont know if Mike found a solution (How did you get on Mike if you read this???) I have narrowed it down to start up services and priority of loading items. Symantec suggested AOL start up items (Yeah right!!we dont use AOL here). It does sound particularly bad in your case, you can try eliminating non essentials from your start up and have a look at the management console to eliminate non essentials from starting there as well. If I find a positive solution I will post a solution but I do know there are not any patches or updates to fix it. I know this probably does not help, but you are not alone with this one!! |

| 38116 | 2002-03-06 10:18:00 | Yeah, I did read this one :) I found what was causing the problem in my case - it wasn't Norton Antivirus at all (well, not that I know of) but it was my network adapter searching for the network - perhaps it was NAV searching for the network... Anyway, I disabled the network adapter (the wife's computer is stuffed, so the network hasn't been used for a while) and I now have no delays in booting up, whereas before there were delays up to about 2 minutes. HTH Mike. |
