38387 2002-03-09 04:18:00 Hi all, Need some help with this one. Runnning WinXP home. I have installed a DVD Rom into my PC, it all worked fine with cover off (making sure it did work). Now that I have put the cover back on - After teh Windows XP is starting page, it just seems to Hang or freeze on a grey screen. I have checked the Bios - and this it is all fine. Picks up the DVD AOK, etc. Also - it was only a matter of minutes between working and not.

I only put the cover on the PC, did not need to touch anything on the inside.

I am getting to the stage of reformatting the HDD and starting from scratch.

Do any of you bright sparks out there have any iodeas what maight be wrong?

I can get into safe mode, but not too sure where to look from there.

Any and All help greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Kerry
