i would like advice on how to get an excel line chart to chart data from the left hand axis as i can only get it to work with a gap after the axis which makes it look a little disjointed |

You probably have 'auto-ranging' on the axes, which might start from 0. You should have an option to set the minumum X-value to be the same as that of your first data point. |

Right click on the X-axis labeling and you should get a
'Format axis' option. Coose this and then go to the 'Scale' tab. Clear the ticks from the items you wat to control and fill in the values eg 0 for Minimum. Of course if your data changes to exceed the limits you set then you will not see all data points. |
