Are you using a phone extension lead and how old is it? All these things can and will affect your speed and thats not going into detail about your actual phone jackpoints etc. The main slow downs seem to be the questions I asked. You can try various programs to help speed things up such as Internet Turbo 2001 etc but if your ISP is limiting the speed as xtra does then they will only give you a fraction of an increase. I used to have a similair problem when with xtra but have got full speed since changing ISP's to Quicksilver. | Guest (0) | ||

| 38557 | 2002-03-10 12:27:00 | Hi Sam. Whilst cleaning the build up off the rollers I also use a pair of tweezers to remove the hair and fluff from the roller edges. I used to have problems when I was using a shiny plastic mouse pad. I was forever lifting it off the pad, replacing it and giving it a quick slide around to make it work positively. Since purchasing a neoprene type, the kind with a nylon fabric upper similar to diving suit material, that problem has totally ceased. It is an Accodata brand and I think it cost $1.95 or thereabouts from the Warehouse Stationary Cheers. LL |

Regarding the mouse rollers, they seem to get a hard coating build up on them which takes quite a bit to scrape it off. Study them closely and use some sort of scraper to get it all off. Don't use metal as it may scratch the surface of the rollers. In my case, as I said earlier, it seemed to be the hair and fluff at the edges of the rollers that caused most of problem, and tweezers did the trick. LL |

Go to Control Panel, double click Network, if you have NetBEUI checked, unchecked it and have just TCP/IP checked, and ok. 2. Control Panel/double click Modem and click on Properties, click Connections, click on Advanced and you should have Extra Setting. Inside this box remove whatever you have there and type S11=50 but you can go as high as 70, click ok. 3. Internet Options/click on the Advanced tab, under HTTP 1.1 uncheck connect through proxy connection and ok. |
