38533 2002-03-10 03:52:00 A pool of black ink is forming under the park position of the ink cartridges.
No sign of any leakage from the cartridge/s.
Not using refilled cartridges.

38535 2002-03-10 12:12:00 Hi John.

I have a Lexmark 3200 printer and noticed a thick gooey mess at the bottom of the black ink cartridge cradle.

It was black but was more like grease than ink. I enquired about it from a Lexmark Rep. and he said that it was OK as they tend to accumulate a bit of that over a period of time.

He said to clean it out if it was excessive. There wasn't much there but I cleaned it out by removing the black cartridge and using a small screwdriver to carefully hook most of it out of the cradle. I then used tissues etc. to clean up the residue.

Don't leave the partly used cartridge lying around out of the cradle for too long as it could dry out. (I don't know how long is too long.)

Cheers.
