38509 2002-03-09 23:55:00 I am using a Canon BJC-70 with a Laptop (old 486). My problem is that when I try to print, up comes an error msg saying that there was a problem printing to LPT1 (Printer Port). I have checked the configuration and this is OK and have subsequently downloaded and installed new printer drivers.
After all this the problem still remains. The printer is responding to a test print activated from the printer itself. Any ideas and possible solutions for the problem will be appreciated.Thank you.

38510 2002-03-10 00:29:00 It could be setup wrong in the bios as the type of printer port. eg. epp/ecp etc.

Try different bios settings for the parallel port.

38511 2002-03-10 02:54:00 Thanks KO - problem solved. Went in and changed bios settings and also found that LPT1 was disabled in Device Manager. Once both probs were corrected, the printer started to print.. Cheers Guest (0)
