1268737 2012-04-07 03:40:00 Hi all,

I'm a android user with a vodafone 858 and a telecom v9. My v9 is stuck at 2.1 and I would really like to upgrade it to a more modern version of android. Also, my 858 is stuck at 2.2, but is running stock android. Am I able to update this, and if so, how?

Answers much appreciated.

1268739 2012-04-07 21:45:00 There's some stuff over at XDA Developers for the 858, I've used several different ROMs on the 845. The 858 is the "big brother" model of the 858.

Its not too hard but be prepared to read a lot and reread a lot...

You wouldn't get this sort of "I'm my own grandpa" behaviour with an iPhone. iNbreeding is not approved.

1268743 2012-05-02 02:52:00 Hey, tried superoneclick on my 858,as it should be compatible. Unmounted the SD card, enabled USB debugging, and connected it to the computer. Clicked root, and the process starts, but always says 'daemon not starting', or something like that. What does this mean, and how do I fix it?

Thanks

1268744 2012-05-05 22:47:00 Hi, Finally got superoneclick to work. Once I connected to the internet it was fine, so I guess it just needed to get something. I now have a successful root.. However, now when I try to download Clockwork MOD Recovery from ROM manager, it pops up with the message 'An error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands!'. How do I fix this?
Thanks

1268746 2012-05-06 01:50:00 Are you sure that you have root? If you fire up the superuser app it should show you a history of apps trying to use root permissions, can you confirm this is the case? Chilling_Silence (9)
