I love the Spin: Todays settlement is about mending a broken relation and moving towards a better future for all. It will also provide opportunities for economic development in the Tauranga region. Now get back to work, theres further settlements pending. HERE (www.sunlive.co.nz) |

| 1268679 | 2012-04-06 23:42:00 | Nor forget the large Govt. bailouts (www.nzherald.co.nz) of wealthy people's companies... The Govt effectively killed SCF when it put it under statutory management and we will never truly know why as the process is secret and JK was conveniently out of the country when it happened. There is something fishy and political that went on there. Years ago some wanted to change it so that the courts only could put a company under statutory management but of course the pollies didn't want that as they wanted to play god. |

Your dead right Kahawai Chaser, what the hell is the government doing bailing out Finance Companies? Even if the Government were debt free, it is wrong to waste billions of Tax Payers money in such a way . Ill bet if you held a referendum on the matter it wouldnt be the wishes of the people . (Not that the Government takes a blind bit of notice of referendums) And as Mike points out, there are more questions than answers on the SCF matter . I too am sure there are some things we havent been told about this matter . However, two wrongs dont make a right, so now we have two classic examples of the Government wasting our money . |

| 1268684 | 2012-04-07 20:02:00 | If the government elect was by majority, therefore the decisions they make regarding expenditure is on behalf of the majority, I'm ok with the decision. BTW, I did not vote for the current government - did you? | sam m (517) | ||
| 1268685 | 2012-04-07 20:26:00 | If the goverment said one thing and did another, how did anybody vote for that. They are beyond accountability and need to be reigned in. And you too, as you voted for the commos. |
