| 1268405 | 2012-04-05 08:48:00 | news.cnet.com More than half a million Macs are infected with the Flashback Trojan, a malware package designed to steal personal information But Macs cant get viruses/malware so Mac users (and clowns in Magnum Mac - now Yoobee) keep telling me. <Place Tui ad here> |

| 1268407 | 2012-04-05 10:00:00 | It does not have to happen. OS X Lion does not come with Java and if Java is turned off in all other browsers there is no problem I have always had Java turned off for years as it has always been a source for infections. |

You can say the same about windows. Everyone always blames Microsoft but more often than not its actually another piece if software that has the security hole where the infection gets in. |

| 1268411 | 2012-04-05 12:51:00 | Apple still market "Mac's don't get PC virus's" Misleading advertising, and technically incorrect. It implies to the general (and sometimes less competent mac buyer) that mac's dont get viruses at all (they do). The intended meaning is that they don't get PC (windows viruses) (because they can't, different OS, misleading because it implies they don't get viruses at all) A PC, however is a personal computer, therefore mac's "cannot" get PC viruses which is incorrect. They CAN get a virus designed for a personal computer. Apparently OS x "keeps you safe without any work on your part" (see bottom left tile www.apple.com) Someone should file a lawsuit for these muppets |

Yes, it should really be "Macs running Mac OS can't get viruses designed to run on Windows\DOS" Would also work with "A Hackintosh running Mac OS can't get viruses designed to run on Windows\DOS" Turning off Java might help but then why not just turn off your router or the whole computer and block even more viruses? Of course, that would defeat the purpose! By the way, Comodo has recently release a version of their security software for OSX and Linux. |
