If yours is the appropriate Te Reo pronunciation, I have no truck with that. It is the original name, it is the original pronunciation. Who the hell are we to introduce sloppy pakeha shortcuts? But I don't go along with the pretentious delivery our news readers affect. |

Add to that there used to be regional variations so who decides which is right? So If I get lazy and say tekawatta it's because I've given up trying to keep up with the current Idea of pronunciation, well and because it's easier to wrap my mouth around. |
