1268609 2012-04-10 02:40:00 I contacted them and they said they could only put me onto Total Home starter which is 80GB and I would save $5 and get an extra 20GB. Not that I even use 60GB.

Did you get something similar pctek?

There is a noticable gap between 40GB and 80GB in their new plan structure. There is no 60GB option in the revised list, there are 5GB, 10GB,30GB, 40GB, 80GB, 120GB, 160GB packages.

So if you're currently on Total Home Starter +60GB for $125 a month (why?! ripping yourself off with that plan... should be Total Home Broadband - $105 for same 60GB currently), you'll be able to drop down to either Total Home Starter + Adventure, 80GB for $105, or up to Total Home Broadband, 120GB for $105.

1268612 2012-04-10 05:16:00 Mobile data is what needs to increase next.

I had instant upload turned on over the long weekend as my wife and I went Dolphin Watching (She swam with them) so naturally I wanted to take a ton of photos and have them instantly uploaded in case I dropped my phone in the water.
Used ~900MB of my 1GB and I have approx 28 days left in the billing month now. To go from 1GB to 3GB is another $40... Furious much? The joys of living in the cloud

Yeah pretty much. Or, I look at it as paying insurance on those memories to ensure that even if I fell overboard right after taking them, and my phone sank to the bottom of the ocean, that I could still remember them :)

I specifically asked for a discount instead.

They gave me two choices. Stay on the 20GB plan (with landline and national flat rate tolls) and have $10 off. or go down to starter (and add tolls) and get $10 off.
I took the first option.

1268615 2012-04-10 10:23:00 Well, my Telecom plan rolled to it's new month today but no data allowance change :(

Same here, I dropped my allowance from 40GB to 20GB when Billy Jnr finished Uni and disappeared overseas for a while, and was cruising comfortably at about 5GB a month, but he is back again and surprise surprise, there is a significant spike in usage. No worries, I thought, the new 40GB limit will cover that, but it hasn't appeared.

Is there any qualifying status or particular plan type required for the increased cap?

Cheers

As long as you're on a Total Home plan of any sort, you'll get your new data cap as of your next billing cycle after May 1st 2012.
