1268599 2012-04-09 12:13:00 Zenbu & the likes often only charge high prices if you pay by credit card, but some motels etc. charge full price no matter what payment method you use Greven (91)
1268600 2012-04-09 20:08:00 Mobile data is what needs to increase next.

I had instant upload turned on over the long weekend as my wife and I went Dolphin Watching (She swam with them) so naturally I wanted to take a ton of photos and have them instantly uploaded in case I dropped my phone in the water.
Used ~900MB of my 1GB and I have approx 28 days left in the billing month now. To go from 1GB to 3GB is another $40... Furious much?

1268601 2012-04-09 21:03:00 Unlike most other commodities mobile data prices has come down due to demand. If you decide to spend another $40 then you are creating more demand so when your children grow up, they too can moan that $30 for 100gb of mobile data is too expensive. sam m (517)

Absolutely dead right, always thought the same with house prices. Because most buyers are **** for brains with too much money which forces up house prices.

1268603 2012-04-09 21:47:00 Makes me wonder why mobile data is so dear. It is not as though they have to lay a huge network of wires. Maybe it is a case of keeping the shareholders happy. Bobh (5192)
1268604 2012-04-09 22:23:00 Esp roaming at $30 per MB

In Singapore, actually 3G data is cheaper than their ADSLs .. more people have 3G than ADSL from the last report I read.

I think NZ's internet in the main cities are pretty good, speedwise etc ... with ADSL2, in terms of fibre SG are still installing them to be concluded maybe in 2yrs. In SG they have diff speeds at diff prices, so if you are happy with a 2Mbit speed you could pay less and there is no data caps of course. I gather many people just like the convenience of having BB outside and at home with 3G.

The other day I was watching some foreign dramas on the net and clocked up 5GB one evening :p
That got me thinking about Internet TV. I am not sure if it would take off. Even if data cost become cheaper and like overseas, could ISPs shoulder the costs if people started watching hours of "HD" Internet TV (on that large LCD) every single day instead of thru a sat dish / UHF aerial.

Nah I told them to take a hike, $40 for 2GB is a ripoff! I'd rather just limit my 3G usage over the next couple of weeks and stick to Wifi where I get significantly faster speeds and no data limits like that....

1268606 2012-04-09 23:29:00 Mine rolls over on the 25-26th. I wonder if it will change then, or not.

To be more precise, I was told that it's May's billing cycle. I said next month's was 'cause was on the 8th of April.

1268608 2012-04-10 02:19:00 I contacted them and they said they could only put me onto Total Home starter which is 80GB and I would save $5 and get an extra 20GB. Not that I even use 60GB.

Did you get something similar pctek?
