1292180 2012-08-02 00:57:00 I'd suggest...
If anyone uses hotmail for anything important, :badpc:  , dont try outlook.com untill all the teething issues are sorted (check the ms forums)

no going back option for me

1292181 2012-08-02 02:10:00 It does look good, but why on God's green earth did they call it Outlook? It's bad enough now with clients sorting out the difference between Outlook Express and Outlook, did MS learn nothing from the 'Office XP' naming debacle... :badpc: wratterus (105)

Snap up all those email adress's that might be usefull, & block others from getting something relevant to you

1292186 2012-08-02 21:33:00 No it is not, it is a complete rewrite from scratch with all sorts of sophisticated features to compete with Gmail. zqwerty (97)

1292189 2012-08-04 00:11:00 I signed up for it yesterday and had a good look around - to be perfectly honest, it still feels like Microsoft is lagging way behind GMail. There's a ton of stuff that I use regularly which is completely missing from outlook.com.

I'm sure there are a few more things, but these are the ones I noticed: Two-factor authentication
Extra, revokable passwords with usage tracking (app-specific passwords)
Labels ('categories' partly provides this, but not fully)
List-based mail filters
Multiple-action mail filters
Filter-based autoreply
Starred-first inbox view (note that this isn't the same thing as 'sort by flagged')
Directness indicator in list view (shows whether email is directly to you, to others as well, CCd etc)
XMPP integration
Folder list visibility settings
Preview snippets (shows body previews in list view)
Google+ integration
IMAP support
Canned responses
Selection-based quoting
Single-action send & archive
DKIM
Sender timezone / current time (I think - I can't find a setting for it, but unsure whether it shows up by default)
Unread count favicon

The interface was also periodically quite sluggish, which I found quite disconcerting for an email application - I'm used to getting near-instant responses.
