I just follow MajorGeeks for new software releases and the slim version comes up about a week later when a new build of ccleaner comes up

Same, just untick the toolbar.

Exactly. Just like when downloading from cnet, you always select the custom install, so you don't get avg tagging along :D

True but it's amazing how many people are almostl completely incapable of that.

Number of peoples PC's we have seen, 1/2 the browser page is filled with toolbars.
