| 38632 | 2002-03-11 00:10:00 | Well, I followed kame krazee's advice and uninstalled & deleted the PCI Controller and NIC from Device Manager, but when I restarted the computer, the new hardware wizard couldn't find the drivers for the Simple PCI controller. It searched the Win2K install disk (and the MB disk just in case) but came up with nothing. I have the drivers standing by for the Sis900 NIC but can't proceed til I locate these elusive PCI controllers. Any ideas as to where they might be found? (For part one of this post look further down the page to Saturday) Cheers Billy 8-{) |

I was using a CNET Pro200 which did not come with Win2k and that was shown as PCI controller until I reinstalled the driver by right clicking on the device in device manager and installing the NIC drivers for it there. | Guest (0) | ||

I reckon you are right though, because the other box is essentially identical and it doesn't have the 'Simple PCI Controller' loaded. Cheers Billy 8-{) |

Graham, yes I do have the MB disk and it carries the NIC drivers but doesn't seem to have the 'Simple PCI Controller' drivers. Can't see why they'd be needed if the other box doesn't want them and runs OK. Painting went well so my leash has been lengthened and my water bowl filled. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
