| 38917 | 2002-03-12 21:50:00 | I need to connect 2 PCs, one running W2000 and the other NT4. The hardware link is installed and running. The W2000 PC permits sharing of its HDDs and I can view and access these from the NT PC but cannot do this in the reverse direction because there is no Share facility available in the Drive/ Properties window and no sharing under Control Panel/Network/Services. I have spoken to the computer supplier and others, who tell me that the feature should be available but we have not found it. Can you please help?? | Guest (0) | ||

| 38919 | 2002-03-16 21:35:00 | Thank you Don for your reply. I am logged into both machines as administrator. Network Neighbourhood on both machines only sees the W2000 m/c. On the NT m/c Share is not an option when right-clicking on either the drive or on any folder. From the NT m/c I can access the W2000 drives only after logging in to it as administrator. The problem seems to be that sharing is not available on the NT m/c (see previous E-mail). Hope this helps. |
