Being a cautious ?Sunday Driver? Could somebody please tell me what if any pot-holes lie ahead for the unsuspecting |

| 38892 | 2002-03-12 11:07:00 | Hi there, There's most likely nothing more to it than plugging it in, turning it on, and scanning something! It'll have a wire to supply it with power, that's very straigh-forward. There'll be a wire connecting it to the computer, which is simply a matter of finding a plug that looks the same on the back of your computer, and plugging it in. You'll want to do all this while both the PC and the scanner are turned off. When you've plugged in both cables, turn it on, and likely windows will say 'New Hardware Found', and proceed to install it for you. If not, call back here and I'll see what I can do to figure out what was amiss... The thing to remember is that it's VERY VERY hard to hurt a computer without heavy machinery, so don't be worried about damaging something by giving it a go. The only pitfall I can think of is the possibility of bending some pins while plugging it in, though quite probably it is USB, whcih is nothing more than a boxy kind of thing.
