38865 2002-03-12 03:00:00 After a resent scumware problem which i have only partly managed to deal with, i have the desire to see exacly what is sucking away at my system resources. My 256meg of ram is in continious full use acording to norton system doctor, i really don't think this is normal! I am aware that pressing ctrl+alt+del will show me a little of what is running, but i need to be able to see much deeper that this, to find the ghost implanted in my machine! Guest (0)
38866 2002-03-12 03:21:00 Try this little program called
'PrcView (Process Viewer)'
available from
www.pcworld.com

The description sounds a little complex but it'll tell you everything you want to know (and more).

38867 2002-03-12 03:32:00 Go to http://www.jv16.org/
and download RegCleaner. Without actually running the Registry Clean it will list everything on your computer including a Startup list. The main problem is identifying the programmes listed. You don't say what Operating system you are running but the readme file page 12 lists
all Windows except XP but I have it on XP with no problems. Frank

38869 2002-03-12 03:41:00 If you're using Win 95 or 98 you can get a great utility called wintop, part of win95 power tools - fantastic as a security check on your system too. Ignore what MS say about it not working with 98 - it's just fine. Guest (0)
