This is a repost. In a previous post it was suggested that the hub could be the cause. This has been eliminated as a cause. --- I am running win98 SE with two computers networked using a hub and ethernet cards. Suddenly out of the blue one of the computers has come up with the following error massage on startup. The startup stops until I press enter and after that the load up continues and the computer & network seem to function normally. Error message ' Microsoft Networking The following error occured while loading Protocol Number 0 Error 59 A network error has occured ' Anyone any ideas on what is happening? I can't find anything in the Microsoft knowledge Base. Thanks DW |

Hi. Try doing a logged start up - then check the bootlog.txt - then use the error message there to search the MS knowledge base. |

Thanks Greg but nothing shows up in the bootlog.txt. The error message seems to come after the boot up sequence. I will try disabling my startup programmes one at a time. DW |
