| 38875 | 2002-03-12 06:04:00 | Hi, A nifty program (which might have been on a PCW CD sometime recently) is AdAware, by Lavasoft. That shows you EXACTLY what is one your computer. One my system, it's currently showing 6 things that CTRL + ALT + DEL doesn't show. Give it a go, and while you're at it, get RegClean. I'm not sure who makes that, or where to get hold of it, but any search engine should pull it up, it's a well-used program. Run it over the registry, and it'll probably get rid of about 40megs of crap... Hope that helps, Erin |

Running the 'msconfig' comand, and cross referancing what i saw with the list at 'www.pacs-portal.co.uk has done wonders for reducing my boot up time, and reducing the amount of unneeeded *^&* working against my systems performance! thankyou thankyou thankyou! |

Most monitoring programs will tell you how big it is. Don't worry, windows will shrink it down if it has to (i'm also running win98se with 256mb and mine is currently 168MB). |
