| 38774 | 2002-03-11 19:05:00 | I am thinking of buying a laptop and interested if AMD Athlon processor is better than Intel pentium 3? I have read somewhere that in the pc category AMD Athlon processor is better than Intel Pentium 3 and maybe 4. Can some one please let me know if there was a test between this two laptop processor vendors and which is better? Best regards Enzo |

There is just as much talk about which is better - Intel or AMD - as there is talk about which OS is better or which ISP is better. It all comes down to personal preference. I would buy an Intel over an AMD because that is what I prefer. Intel's tend to run cooler, which might be more beneficial in a laptop, but some tend to think that AMDs run faster. AMD is also slightly cheaper than the similar Intel. But all-in-all there wouldn't be that much difference, so I'd suggest go for the laptop you want, whether it's got AMD or Intel shouldn't make you change your mind over it. Go for all the other specs, such as RAM, sound, speed, etc. |
