38998 2002-03-13 11:29:00 Installed XP today, and consequently updated my modem drivers. Now, when connecting under XP, the modem speaker is on full volume and doesn't turn off once connected! Very loud!

I have turned the speaker off under settings. It is a conexant/rockwell soft56 win modem. is fine under ME.

Any bright ideas?

38999 2002-03-13 12:25:00 Hi Graham,

Me too. Installed XP 2 days ago and the modem squelch is driving me, and the neighborhood, crazy. Same modem, same drivers, same problem.

Waiting with baited breath for an answer.

Cheers.

39000 2002-03-13 18:23:00 With other operating systems, you always need to turn the modem speaker off, in two places.

Once in dial up connection settings, and again in control panel, modems, properties.

39001 2002-03-14 00:34:00 Uninstall the driver, or update, select driver from xp modem driver list, select-modem-generic- fujitsu LB RModem V90.KE. Works fine with your modem Guest (0)
