38975 2002-03-13 07:08:00 You bet - try Irfanview. It's on the PC World CD (not sure about the latest issue though) or you can download it from http://www.irfanview.com/

It is free.

38976 2002-03-13 07:09:00 Well you can download free software that can read gif pictures and convert them to jpg.

You can also open up internet explorer drag one of the pictures onto it, make sure IE is the selected program, hold down Alt and press Print Screen then open up you Graphics Editor and paste the copied screen then cut the picture out and save it as another extension. That's a long process but it might be quicker than downloading a graphics editor and installing it.

If your looking for a graphics editor PaintShop Pro is a good way to go. Find it at www.jasc.com.

38977 2002-03-13 08:32:00 Hi. Irfanview is fantastic as an image viewer - cheap, quick and easy to run. However it's not the greatest image editor - a fine fine image editor is available for free from PolyBytes called PolyView - It is fantastic in it's abilities and is also a very small app - the download is only about 3-4 megs. I own a full version of Photoshop 6 but still rely on Polly a lot! It's quicker too. The free version is almost unlimited in it's applications. Guest (0)
38978 2002-03-13 23:48:00 kame has the right idea , by using ie or any other browser, if you don't wanna install more progs.
But if you're using this method it's easier 2 use 'save as' and change the extension.

Irfranview has the advantage of doing mutliple conversions, and it's free.
