I am getting a programme is not responding 'it may be waiting etc.' message when I try to close down. The heading on top bar of this message says 'Outlook Express Hidden Window'.I cant close by any means except turning the computer right off- it won't let me do anything else.
I have no idea what this can be. I have done a system check with Norton Utilites. and run a virus scan after live updating. Can anyone help? |

Hi. I can't tell you how to remedy this, but I believe this problem is caused by Norton's itself. Perhaps go to their support section of their site and look for known issues. |

i think i had this problem once, and if i recall right, the hidden window is OE checking mail/news in the background. The solution? Coffee! (or whatever you could do that will use a few minutes enjoyably while you wait) |

It's likely OE comapcting folders. You can turn this off under Tools | Options | Maintenance. You can compact the folders manually under File | Folder | Compact all |
