39498 2002-03-17 06:55:00 If using partitionmagic with WinME do you need to kill system restore first? And are there any known conflicts between systemworks and partitionmagic

thanks

39499 2002-03-17 08:15:00 Of course I could be wrong, I have used partition magic 7 on all my own computers running ME and several others in the past and have never worried about the system restore and have never had a problem Guest (0)
39500 2002-03-17 09:30:00 Ditto with gordon but after learning how to partition in dos I did so during a reformat and haven't touched partition magic since Guest (0)
39501 2002-03-18 03:15:00 Should be no problem. System Restore 'restores' a software configuration on a 'disk' (or partition). It had *better not* touch the partition table.

The only problem I can see as possible is: If you have removed a lot of software (to make space) and then repartitioned without first saving the new 'state' for System Restore. System Restore might crash if there is not enough room in the new partition.
That would be an operator problem, not a software conflict.

Anything which involves modifying the partition table is a dangerous operation. It requires care. And backups.
