39688 2002-03-18 20:14:00 I have just installed Netscape 6.2 (previously and still have installed Netscape 4.7). I cannot get Netscape 6.2 to pick up my inwards mail despite being set as the default mail. It will also not recognise enternet.co.nz as my internet provider (says it could not be found) and also says info.netscape.com could not be found. When I establish the connection separately it apparently connects, but test messages sent do not arrive. Obviously I have done something wrong - some sort of connection needs to be established but how?The only way to get my mail is to go back to old Netscape but that is no longer the default. Can any one help?

Many thanks

Check you have configured your POP server correctly. This should be something like pop.enternet.co.nz

To check this open Netscape Mail, and go Edit > Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings

Click on the Account you want to setup, and choose 'Server Settings'. There will be an option right at the top of the box called 'Server type' and 'Server Name'. Check these are correct, if they're not you may have to re-setup this account as the boxes may be greyed out.

Your ISP should be able to help you setup your email, I'd suggest giving them a call.

Hope this helps!

1Xtra supply you with a 25 step procedure to setup your Internet & Mail.Enternet should do the same. Can supply copy if wanted.
2.Presume you can access home netscape.com and ditto browsers/6/faq.
3 Still have similar problems re Xtra not being recognised. Have desktop shortcut for Xtra and Netscape 6.2 Always connect using Xtra S/C then open Netscape allowing any document to finish downloading before clicking for next step. A pain, but trying to speed up things often stuffs it up.Frank.
PS running XP.
