| 40108 | 2002-03-22 03:15:00 | Using Excel97, IE5, NT4. If IE goes to a link that is an .XLS file it calls up your Excel app and opens the workbook in it. But it continues to show the IE toolbars at the top rather than Excel toolbars. When you hit the BACK button it goes back to IE --- BUT if you now switch to Excel you find only the Excel File... toolbar showing and leftover bits of IE's toolbar. The only way I have found to restore your Excel toolbars is to exit and restart Excel. This is a pian. Does anyone know a way of getting IE/Excel to restore orginal toolbar and window setting when they part company again without restarting Excel? jt |

It runs an add-in type thing which loads part of Excel enough to open the file, but actually IE is still running, displaying the xls file, not Excel. You will need to actually run excel itself and open the file from there to be able to view it in Excel. | Guest (0) | ||
