| 40058 | 2002-03-21 12:56:00 | I want to install a CD-RW drive. I already have a CR-Rom. Does it matter which is the slave & which is the master? Which drive should the CD audio cable be attached to? The IDE cable will be 'daisy chained' to the drives & m/board. | Guest (0) | ||

| 40061 | 2002-03-21 23:35:00 | Which CD ROM has the faster read speed? As I'd have the fastest as your master, although it makes no real difference. I have my CD Writer as master and my DVD player as slave, both can read CD's just fine, but as for playing sound you should be able to run sound cables from the back of both into your sound card for direct paly, but this may be dependant as to how many sound ports you have on the side of your card (I've got a Creative Labs sound blaster Live card that has 3 internal sound ports to support 3 Cd Roms). Best of luck, Daniel |
