2012-08-08 23:08:00 | I have an annoying problem with MSE. Even though I scan regularly (Full Scan) by utilising the scheduled scan and even a manual scan the thing always shows my computer as being potentially unprotected (orange strip at the top of the Page) instead of Green (PC Status: Computer Protected). Both Real time protection is On and Virus and and spyware definitions are up to date. Why on earth does it keep telling me that the PC is unprotected??????? What can I do to correct the problem? | smurf (6545) | |
2012-08-08 23:17:00 | Just open MSE and click on scan now... I think it just needs to do a quick scan. See if this helps. | ronyville (10611) | |
2012-08-08 23:26:00 | Thanks Ronyville, I have done that too.... it holds until I next boot and then reverts to the orange PC Status Potentially unprotected...annoying eh :) | smurf (6545) | |
2012-08-08 23:41:00 | Have you tried manually updating it? | Iantech (16386) | |
2012-08-08 23:45:00 | Yes I have Ian, it reverts no matter what scan or type of scan..frustrating as hell lol :) | smurf (6545) | |
2012-08-08 23:54:00 | Windows updates done? It tends to whinge about that if they haven't, and will give an unprotected message. | pctek (84) | |
2012-08-09 00:30:00 | You don't run Ccleaner a lot? If so see second answer on this page. answers.microsoft.com

2012-08-09 05:12:00 | Thanks to all who replied. Problem solved by Karamea Dave! :) cCleaner was the culprit- in that it was cleaning out the logs associated with MSE. Remedy was to Go to Applications/Windows in cCleaner and uncheck MS Antimalware. Thanks everyone :) | smurf (6545) | |
