1270362 2012-04-16 10:46:00 The earthquake-devastated cathedral in New Zealand's Christchurch is to be replaced by one made of cardboard.

This will cost up to $5,000,000 and would be used for ten years while a new Cathedral is being designed and built.

1270366 2012-04-16 21:22:00 Why waste money on a temporary solution, is religion about the building or the belief? Surely they can just hire a venue once a week until a permanent building can be built. Still it is amazing what they can do with cardboard. dugimodo (138)

1270368 2012-04-16 21:28:00 I'd happily support the rebuild of something equally grand as the Cathedral they lost, but at a cost of half a million per year averaged over a lifespan of only 10 years, well, I'm glad my money is not being used for that, whether it's grand or tacky, it's still too much on a temporary structure.
