$12,500,000 invested into a company that made a single software title, distributed as Freeware.
The company is now in liquidation with no assets (because the coder has disappeared with all the money, and the product is a bleeding freebie!)

The company is now in liquidation with no assets (because the coder has disappeared with all the money, and the product is a bleeding freebie!)Kind of fitting really. Greed is how they got the money in the first place, and greed is how they lost it.
Not only did they try investing in a business which they clearly did little research into , they sunk it into an offshore business in which there is no hope of getting anything back. More wealth gone from NZ!! At least sharing it among the 5000 members of the tribe would have kept the money in the country.

So whats going to happen now? They will lodge a new claim saying they never got paid enough the last time around, and Uncle John on behalf of the tax payer will give them some more.

What should be happening is the 4990 (or how many there are) members who are not on the board are investors, that money is theirs, so they should take the board to court for losing their investment and there should be a criminal investigation.

"We were left landless in our own tribal lands – and now we must endure loss again." Yep, you had it all and blew it, now you have no land or money like many in NZ but luckily I'm sure you're still entitled to the dole and pension.

1269860 2012-04-17 02:16:00  Hilarious, I feel a grievance claim with Australia coming on.

But seriously, I’d love to know the route that $12.5M took out of the country.

The Government handed over $14M Taxpayers money, but to whom and how did $12.5M NZ Dollars wind up in Aus without some explanation?

I smell a Rat. ;)

1269861 2012-04-18 09:15:00 I know some of you are wondering where all your taxes have been going. :(

Well, when you’ve got a spare moment HERE (www.nzcpr.com) is where a large chunk has already gone and where an awful lot more is earmarked to go, along with a very comprehensive explanation.

Little wonder the Country's Broke.

I realise that the reading is quite heavy and well out of range of some on here, but I’m sure others will get the message loud and clear once digested. :)

It's a pity, but Racism and Separatism seems to be the Key to all this. ;)

Very good post, thank you.

So...for how much longer are Kiwis prepared to put up with this?

Would NZ have to become a Republic to 'free' itself from the gravy train?

Sadly for you, both major political parties (and as far as I can tell the minor ones as well including ACT) support the settlements, the New Zealand legal system has upheld the process (for example the 1987 Court of Appeal decision) and changing to a republic won't change any of that. So you're on the wrong side of the law and on the wrong side of the politics.

I see where you’re coming from legod but wonder if becoming a Republic isn’t a bit drastic, just to kick a few noses out of the trough.

How about becoming a State of Australia? I can see a few advantages there. ;)

I never thought I’d ever say that, but we’re stuffed with what we’ve got. :annoyed:
