40585 2002-03-26 12:21:00 My CD-RW drivers have become corrupted, or have gone missing.

How can I restore them from my windows cd (thats where the originals came from)

It is an Acer 84321A 5.EZ 8x4x32

Thanks in advance for your help.

40586 2002-03-26 12:37:00 Oh, btw Windows XP Pro. Dual boot with ME, so can access the cd drive from there, or dos (ME Emergency boot disc).

I assume the driver is somewhere in \i386\driver.cab in the cd. How do I know which one it is, and where do I extract it to?

Cheers

40587 2002-03-26 14:02:00 Problem solved. Registry hack thanks to Knowledge base.

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E 965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Delete the UpperFilter and LowerFilter values.

Done.
