To get into Safe Mode restart and as the computer starts to boot up, start clicking the F8 key (exact key may vary between systems but F8 is the common one), you will be offered several options, select Start in Safe Mode. | 40781 | 2002-03-29 10:46:00 | although defrag in safe mode will temp fix the problem, it can also be done by shutting down a few programs. From CTL ALT DEL close everything except systray and explorer. Also turn off screensaver. Also win95 defrag doesn't like Mcaffee a/v, so if you have that, disable it for duration of defrag. |
