41021 2002-03-30 20:37:00 Sorry if this ends up a multiple post...despite waiting over night...or even an hour...my post doesn't show up....

In the past week I have installed Office Professional XP on my computer. Previously I had Office 97. I?m running Office 98SE?hopefully that?s all you need to give me a clue.

I am attempting a correspondence course on the use of Access database, and have become very frustrated at the following in which I am trying to make a Drop Down Combo Box

In Design click on Combo Box Tool (ok, that works)
Combo Wizard will appear (that?s ok)
Ensure (top box) ?.is selected, select grouping table, ..all ok
Select ?Group Name? ?..oh-oh!!!!

?ActiveX component can?t create object?

I can find nothing to tell me how to get it to work other than possibly ?register Active X Control?, but when it says specify path, I get lost. What are they talking about?

I never used Access in 97, because I found it confusing just looking at it, but now need it as part of my study ? so I don?t know if this is a problem peculiar to XP or to previous version also. Is it possible I have a wrong setting in Access, or Windows?

Thanks

41023 2002-04-02 10:57:00 Thanks, looked places where u suggested but still hitting brick wall.

Tried 'registering' the files - but the save box came up and asked for file path and stuff....I give up!

Really appreciate your time.
