41212 2002-04-01 02:52:00 Have you updated your Fat32 to NTSF? Win2000 won't read Fat32. But the S3 thing I seem to recall being involved with modems. Have you recently installed a new modem? Maybe 2000 is having problems installing it, have you the latest drivers? On a personal note: Why Win2000? Win98se has everything you need, and is more stable, in fact it is the most stable Micro$haft OS yet :) Guest (0)
41213 2002-04-01 02:54:00 BTW this usually only happens with Modems that have Lucent Technology Inc. Chips in them. Guest (0)
41214 2002-04-01 02:59:00 Hi Scooter

Thanks for yoru reply. That S3 Trio64v+ is something to do with the graphics card but I will sort it out. I will change to ntfs and see how that goes.
Why 2000 - I got a copy for free thats why but I would prefer 98se.

Cheers man

41215 2002-04-01 03:28:00 what sort of system do you have? going from win95 to w2k is a big step (btw w2k is far more stable than any win9x/me)

your system must be old to have win95 and s3 vid cards so make sure your system is up to spec.. at a guess its going to run slower with w2k.

do a fresh install from scratch. fat 32 is ok. make sure you get the w2k drivers for everything first.
