41138 2002-03-31 10:42:00 I Have an early 2-speed cd rom to install into a 486-40. What procdure is needed, or is their a good site for more information on this subject. I have already sourced the drivers for the unit.

41139 2002-03-31 19:44:00 I think all of the early two speed, had to be run of a sound card. ie. they are not IDE.

They were things like 'Creative Labs' and I think there was a 'Sony' one.

What operating system are you running?

Normally you turn off the computer, plug in the ISA sound card, hook up the CD to it, and supply the CD with power. Then bootup, and windows will detect the card and begin the installation.

It needs to be the right sound card for the CD rom, and the only other problem you may have, is a clashing IRQ. Come back if you get stuck.
