| 41409 | 2002-04-02 06:23:00 | I have a 7500rpm 100ATA Barracuda hard drive on the primary IDE. The secondary has a Pioneer DVD as master and a HP CD-Writer as slave - both are ATA33. I want to fit a Zip Drive. Where should it go? If I fit one of the exsisting ATA33 drives as slave on the primary IDE will this slow down the hard drive to 33? The only info with the Zip says it should be fitted as slave, but not to the hard drive. Mainboard etc support 100ATA. Thanks in advance. Tom B. |

| 41410 | 2002-04-02 07:28:00 | Tom, I've just been through all this as I was having all sorts of problems writing CDs. I ended up with the following layout, and all problems have disappeared. HD - Primary master Zip - Primary slave Writer - secondary master Reader - secondary slave To be fair, my reader is a 52x cd, so I can't say how a DVD will go, but this layout works fine.
