41407 2002-04-02 05:29:00 Just read Eric Richards' recent virus warning post and I thought it would be timely to warn all my fellow Press F1'ers about the re-emergence of the Honesty virus. This is a mean and nasty piece of work that can affect your hard drive even if you just read a text email or even receive the virus code printed on paper.

Seems that if you receive this virus, you should immediately go into Fdisk and type Format C, ignore all warnings and press enter repeatedly until the process starts.

There is another variant called the Stupidity virus which is equally nasty. It doesn't even need Fdisk, you just boot to DOS and type Del C:\*.* .

Be warned, there are no AV programs that can protect you against honesty or stupidity.

41408 2002-04-02 07:09:00 Thanks for the timely reminder, Billy!

I received this virus by mail on Monday. I thought it was weird to get it by post, but the sender confessed to implimenting it wrong on his PC, therefore having to resort to writing the message on paper and posting to all his contacts.

Apparently you are supposed to send it to all on your email address book BEFORE formatting your PC. The dummy who sent it to me wasted about $50.00 in stamps because he mixed up the order!

Anyway mate, thanks again for the heads-up.
