41498 2002-04-02 23:47:00 We have a friend back in NZ running WinME and Outlook 6.
In the last few days his email is sending out 2 copies of every message. He has done a virus scan and that comes up clean.

Any idea's anyone.

Gets to be a little annoying when you are limited to a 56k dial up that d/loads at half that when you are lucky and your account is charged on a time/data use.

Cheers

41499 2002-04-03 00:59:00 Ihugs mail server was duplicating what i sent through it for a wee while way back when i was with them... i was stumped, and thought it must be me, untill i connected with clear.net.nz using a freinds account as an expererment, and found that the problem went away.
This is going back a while, i cannot remember how long the ihug problem lasted, but it also went away all by itself!
Another thing that can cause duplication is if the recipiant chooses to 'leave a copy of messages on server' My partner sometimes picks her mail on this machine when she is over, and the 'leave a copy on server' setting once caused all the email stored on the server to be downloaded each time she checked it, untilll she got home and cleared the server from her own machine. This problem fixed itself when minidata.co.nz, a west coast ISP got bought out by inet, and the new mail server doesnt behave in this way
