| 41484 | 2002-04-02 21:46:00 | I am a newbie at PRESS F1 and I am only 13. I am having some dialup problems with dialing up my ISP in linux. I am trying to use minicom and Seyon because none of the others work. I have got as far as Dialing up -> Talking (squeeking) but then it just waits and times out. I have been trying to find a solution for this problem for over a year. Thanks, Simon |

Which distribution have you got ( RedHat, Mandrake, Corel, ...) and which GUI )KDE, Gnome)? Obviously your modem works, so that's the silly stuff out of the way. What does the command 'ls -l /dev/modem' (in an xterm window) give? Have you used the GUI connection setup tool? |
