| 41657 | 2002-04-03 23:40:00 | I am looking to upgrade my printer to suit digital photography. I am attracted to the Dye-sublimation type printer for permanance and quality but put off by initial cost and cost of consumables. While I can just live with the cost, I am concerned that this type of printer may be the equivalent of the Beta video recorder ie technicaly superior but a dog in the market. I am interested in feedback and recomendations on Photo printers. | Guest (0) | ||
| 41658 | 2002-04-04 08:42:00 | The chap at the local Kodak outlet (Victoria St, Hamilton) tells me his printer is a Dye-sub type - a snip at only $200,000!! Most modern photo quality ink jets seem pretty good, but if you want good quality dye-sub prints, the Kodak man will print the files for you if you email them or take them in on disk for about $14 for an A4 page of prints (no - I don't work for Kodak, but it sounds like a good deal to me). Regards, Ray A. |
