41646 2002-04-03 23:37:00 Hi there, I have a Digital PC3500 with P300 96meg,
Mother board has two usb ports. Hooked up HP CD Writer plus with appropriate software via usb. Registers in Device Manager and when you turn the power on and off it disappears and reappears etc..however it won't read the burner as a drive. It says Code 33 that the device is not responding to drivers. Have tried HP and they gave help which is useless. Then as an idea installed ascanner and tried that via usb. Same thing. Registers as unknown device in Device manager..so I think I have trouble with my USB ...running 98se...Any ideas? ;o) Thx

41647 2002-04-04 02:21:00 I had similar problems hooking up a printer via a USB hub.
The installation process (plug n play ? crap!) wouldn't detect the printer unless I removed the hub and hooked up the printer direct.
Also it was crucial that I followed the setup instructions EXACTLY (ie don't power on printer until drivers installed etc).
Try removing/uninstallng the device and start again from fresh with only the one device hooked up.
