41609 2002-04-03 11:54:00 I have relocated the message folders to my Data partition, but when I reboot to another OS they won't open.

I created a new folder in my Data partition. Then in Outlook Express, Tools menu, Options, Maintenance tab, Store Folder. In the Store Location dialog box click Change, browse for the newly created Email folder and select it. Outlook Express moves all the message folders to their new location the next time it starts up.

Now put it to the test. I boot to another OS, whether it be Win9x or a spare WinXP partition. In My Computer, I go to the new Email folder and open it. All the message folders are there but need to be associated with a program to open them. From the Outlook Express folder I choose 'msimn.exe'. All the folders are now adorned with the OE icon. Click any one of them and OE starts up but does not give access to the messages in the folders.

Am I doing something wrong???

41610 2002-04-03 12:13:00 You are on the right track....but in your other partitions do the same as you have done in your first partition....open OE and change the store location to the new one you created.

It will prompt you that it already appears to be a store location and would you like to import the messages..... it is important not to choose the option to delete the existing messages!!
