41664 2002-04-03 23:50:00 Is it possible to to a do a clean install, having fdisk'd and formatted my HD, using an upgrade version of XP?

I'm using 98SE currently, but Windows 98SE is built in to one of those OEM installs.

Which makes reinstalls frustrating if you don't want the installation decided for you by some predetermined script.

So, bearing that in mind, I can't decide whether I need to buy the full version of XP or the upgrade version?

Which would give me the most flexibility in terms of installation?

Your views would be most appreciated

Thanks,
