41624 2002-04-03 12:57:00 quick question...

thinking of upgrading my system to an Athlon XP. was considering the Asus A7v133-C running the KT133A chipset. but will that become obsolete in a few years??

so does the newer KT266 support older RAM?? as well as the DDRRAM in case I decided to change all my RAM later on??

cheers.

41625 2002-04-03 22:09:00 The KT266A chipset supports SDram, but you may have search a while to find a mobo manufacturer that offers that combination! Since DDR is practically the same price as SD, and manufacturers build for the current technology, you will find most KT266A mobos are DDR. The KT133 is only worth considering if you are on a tight budget - the 266A is MUCH better, the of course there is the 333. 'Upgradability isn't a myth - but it might as well be'. Guest (0)
